This year, Sandlapper Elementary begins a new journey as a Computer Science Immersion Magnet School. The purpose of our Computer Science Magnet Program at Sandlapper is to prepare students in work, life and citizenship by providing computer science coding skills to become effective collaborators and communicators, computational and creative thinkers as well as problem solvers with a global perspective. Sandlapper has partnered with Code to the Future to provide support with our Computer Science Immersion program. The curriculum integrates computer science across academic content areas and engages students in exciting project-based learning. We will be hosting trimester celebrations and hope you will be able to attend to see and learn more about the extraordinary projects students are creating.
We invite you to join us on this journey! We extend an open invitation for parents to visit the school. Parent involvement is encouraged and appreciated. Please consider being an active member of our School Improvement Council, PTO, or becoming a parent volunteer.
